What's coming up for May

After a pretty incredible week away at the Paleo fx conference, I'm full of new ideas and excitement :)  It was beyond inspiring to listen to so many incredible thinkers and leading edge ideas.  Nutrition is something I'm incredibly passionate about and have been following for years so it was incredible to be immersed in so many like minded people.

Here are a few things you can look forward to in the month of May.

1.  An expanded Keto line up

Although this conference was titled "Paleo fx", it was so much more than just the Paleo diet.  I'm actually not a proponent of any one diet over another.  My view really holds true that each individual has different biochemistry which utilizes food as fuel differently.  I also believe this can change given the season, current activity level, time of the month (ladies!), ect.  This is one reason why we offer a variety of items to suit a variety of different nutritional needs.  I do however, believe in the power of Keto for some individuals such as those with insulin resistance or neuro degenerative diseases.  It can also be something cycled on and off.   For these reasons, we are going to be expanding our Keto lineup to include 3 new items.  So stay tuned!!

2.  The Wednesday Market

Being part of the Market team definitely isn't something I take lightly.  It's incredible to see so many local vendors with a multitude of talents.  I also know how important it is for our health to focus on fresh produce and locally grown meats.  We can appreciate that these foods are fresh to consumer and free from hormones, antibiotics, steroids and harmful chemicals.  In addition, shopping at the Market keeps our community vibrant and growing.  These vendors work incredibly hard to honour their craft and it's a complete honour to be part of this community.  Starting on May 30th, the upstairs vendors are open every Wednesday from 3:30-6:30 PM.  Another day to stop by and stock up!

3.  More items available as gluten free

I've been working hard to make more of our items available as gluten free.  I can appreciate those wanting to steer clear from gluten and you can expect to see more items offered as gluten free as time goes on.

4.  Re-vamping our Protein Baking Mix

This is something I've been wanting to do over the past few months and it's in the works!  Although I've been happy to that we have maintained only 7 simple ingredients in our mix, i'll be re-doing the mix to exclude corn starch as an ingredient.  Given the increase in GMO corn, it's something I feel good about removing as an ingredient for consumers.  We are also working on expanding our recipe book and improving taste.  You can look for a new and improved version of our protein baking mix coming soon.

There's so much to look forward to coming up!  Stay tuned, we're just getting started :)
